First friendly game of the new season for the U14 girls, first game for the newly formed team and first ever game for 4 new girls (Gracie, Talli, Jasmine, Lottie).

The team were led on to the pitch by captain Sophia Cowley, the game started off with the Crows receiving from the kick. Many of the girls happy to be back in the action, also a few nervous looks on some faces! Soon after the clustered teams of Sevenoaks and Tunbridge Wells (sevenwells) scored their first try, followed by a second and a third. Even though these tries came quick, the Crows never dropped their heads and soon enough they settled and some amazing play came to life. We saw the girls move forward which started with a fantastic run by Erin Crooks, followed up with supporting play from the team into a ruck and then quick hands out down the back line from Sophia into another ruck close to the try line again. Quickly passed out by Sophia then down the line, everyone was willing the ball along and it seemed that every girl got their hand in some way or another with one final smooth pass to Layla Lawson who had made her way out to space, take the ball over the line and TRY SCORED. Then came a perfect conversion from Nellie Jupp and soon after the half came to an end.

A quick chat to the girls then back to it. A half with some great rucking, scrums, tackles and even the odd line out. A couple more tries came from sevenwells but again our girls weren't fazed and continued to play some great rugby until the final whistle came. I think it's safe to say every girl was smiling from ear to ear- some played their first match, made their first run, made their first tackle, been at the bottom of their first ruck and even scored their first try...

Then it was time for a bit of food and to find out who had stood out for coaches and players player....
Coaches player was a difficult decision because they were all amazing, but one girl stood out just that little bit more in her debut game and only joined us a week ago, she played like a natural and that was Lottie Bridges, well done Lottie!

Players player chosen by sevenwells was a girl for her kicking, tackling and for even taking the time to help the opposition kicker in giving her encouragement when struggling with nerves was our very own Nellie Jupp, well done Nellie!
