SUNDAY 10TH OCTOBER (10AM)

We hope you are looking forward to the U16 Sussex Harlequins festival on Sunday 10th October.

Please see below for details about the day and some important information which we would appreciate you reading to help the day run smoothly.

Match pools and playing format
As you will be aware, there have been changes to the teams participating this weekend. As a result of these changes, there will be two pools. Pool A consists of 3 clubs, and Pool B consists of 6 clubs. Pool A clubs will play only 2 matches which will be 30 minutes (one-way, no half time). Pool B clubs will play 5 matches which will be 15 minute (one way, no half time). This all complies with the RFU’s recommended playing time for U15 players. As you will be aware, current U16 players will play with U15 rules until January 2022. Attached to this note is a finalised match schedule with pitch allocations.

Car parking
Parking at the club is free. There will be parking Marshalls on-site, and on the roads near the club. Please be aware that you may be directed to one of our overflow parking sites as you approach the club. Whilst this is not technically on-site, you will never be required to walk more than 250m to the club. To support us with parking, we request those attending car-share where possible to make this process simple for everyone. Once in the area, please respect residents when parking.

Food and beverage
The bar will be open all day and in addition to hot food and drinks in the clubhouse, we will also set up two hot food and drink stations on outside pitches – one will be sited on the Top Training area and another as you enter Pitch D. Whilst the clubhouse will be accepting cash or card/contactless payments, please bring some cash for the outside stations as there will be no card payment options available. We will also have a separate station at the rear of the clubhouse where players can purchase energy drinks and snacks throughout the day.

Changing rooms
We have made three of our changing rooms available for the day but please arrive changed and ready to play. We are not expecting clubs to use the changing rooms, however, they are available should they be required.

First aid and treatment
We request that each team brings a qualified first aider where possible. There will be a qualified doctor on site throughout the day and continual access available to a treatment room in the clubhouse.

Dogs
Steel Cross, the home of Crowborough Rugby Football Club is private and fully owned by the rugby club. The club does not permit dogs on its premises (except for Assistance dogs). This policy has been in place for many years and will be enforced by club officials. Should you bring a dog to the club, please do not be offended when a club official requests that you remove it from our premises.

Photography
We intend to take photos throughout the day and will happily share these with all clubs should they like copies. If you do not want to photos taken of your club, then please contact Alex Hunn (alex@crowboroughrugby.com).

Upper and lower areas
On arrival, please could all clubs make their way to the Upper training area. We request that sides base themselves there for the day and are welcome to set up gazebos or other small tents should they wish. The weather is forecast to be good so we will leave this decision with you. Pitch C is not in use and will be available for sides to use during the day for warm up / drills etc.

COVID
Should anyone be exhibiting signs of Covid who is intending to be at Crowborough on Sunday, then please do not attend.

We are not insisting on face coverings being worn inside the club but please exercise the usual caution when inside. There are no specific Covid policies in place at the club and we are operating as per Government guidelines. There will be hand-sanitising stations placed around the club. Please use them.
